The 1960's

Introduction:

      The 1960's was a huge cultural revolution in American History. It was a very important decade in time because of the Civil Rights Movement. Many laws were passed that gave blacks and other minorities thier rights. President Kennedy was also killed in this decade, which was a huge tragedy. The U.S. excelled in the space race against the Soviet Union and Neil Armstrong was the first man to set foot on the moon. The United States also got involved in the Vietnam war. Lyndon B. Johnson created The Great Society to help end the war on poverty. Other things in music such as The Beatles and Woodstock also occured during the 1960's.
